Waterloo regional police asking for help identifying homicide victim

Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS)are asking for the public's help to identify a homicide victim.

Police saidofficersresponded to the area of Paulander Drive after receiving a report of an injured maleat approximately 4:30 a.m. on Friday.

Upon arrival, police located a deceased male outside near a trail in the area.

The victim is being described as Black, aged 18 to 22 years, with short black hair, wearing a grey Nike zip-up hoodie and grey track pants.

Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service's Major Crimes Unit, General Detectives, and Forensic Identification Unit continue to investigate.

There has been a police presencethroughout the day and people are being asked to avoid the area.

In a tweet sent out just before 8 a.m., WRPSaskedanyone with information to come forward to police.

More information will be released when it's available, the tweet said.
