Police investigating 2 separate shootings over long weekend

Police are investigating two separate shootings, one in Kitchener and one in Waterloo, over the long weekend. In the shooting in Kitchener, one person was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police say both investigations are still ongoing

Waterloo regional police are investigating two shootings in Waterloo region over the long weekend.

One was Monday night in Kitchener. Officersresponded to reports of gunshots in the Fischer-Hallman Road and Queens Boulevard area at around 11:30 p.m.

Police saythis was a targeted shooting and there's no threat to the general public.

One man was transferred to an out-of-region hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

A second shooting took placein Waterloo around 11 p.m. Saturday night.

Police were called to the area of King Street N. and University Avenue W. for a disturbance inside a business thatresulted in multiple shots being fired.

No physical injuries were reported.

Police say both shootings remain under investigation and anyone with information that could help investigators should contact Waterloo regional police or Crime Stoppers.
