2 youths injured after downtown Kitchener fight involving weapons

The Waterloo Regional Police Service is investigating a downtown Kitchener fight involving 150 people that send two youths to hospital.

Police said 150 young people gathered in area of Eby Street and King Street E.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service is investigating a large fight in downtown Kitchener that senttwo youths to hospital.

Police said officers responded to reports of several youths involved in a fight on Thursday in the area of Eby Street and King Street E. Officers found about 150 young people gathered in that area at about 11 a.m.

Police said several weapons were involved, including hammers and machetes.

Two male youths were taken to hospital with injuries, police said.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage is asked to contact police.

There was heavy police presence in the area as the investigation was ongoing.
