Wilmot township re-elects Les Armstrong as mayor

Les Armstrong has won a third term as mayor in Wilmot in Monday's municipal election.

Les Armstrong has won a third term as mayor in Wilmot in Monday's municipal election.

Armstrong first became mayor in 2010. Prior to that he was a councillor.

He was challenged in this election by businessman John Jordan.

Armstrong had 3016votes in Monday's election, while Jordan had 2931.

There will be a few new faces at council as well.

Ward 1:Angie Hallmanwon, after facing Rose Mailloux. Formercouncillor Al Junker did not seek re-election.

Ward 2: Cheryl Gordijk was acclaimed. She replaces Peter Roe who did not seek re-election.

Ward 3:Incumbent Barry Fisher won. He was up against Kris Badrinarayan, Elliot Fungand Sharon MacKenzie for this seat.

Ward 4:Jennifer Pfenningand incumbentJeff Gerber won. They were running againstincumbent Mark Murray andSteven Martin.
