People are lining up to be Winnipeg's CAO under the Bowman administration, according to the city.

Mayor Brian Bowman says changes at city hall are attracting a number of candidates around 150 so far to apply for the job of the city's top bureaucrat. That's almost double the number that applied under previous leadership, Bowman noted.

Applicants have said they're interested in working with a new council.

"There definitely seems to be an interest in, in the renewal that's taking place here at city hall," Bowman said. "We've had a significant, significantly greater number of candidates express interest. Some have expressly put in their correspondences that they're encouraged by the new council and mayor, which is great to hear."

Bowman hopes to have a new CAO working by March.
