Rifles found along Brandon bike path Monday, police say

Two rifles were recovered Monday from a bike path near a busy Brandon, Man., shopping centre.

Two rifles were recovered Monday from a bike path near a busy Brandon, Man., shopping centre.

Brandon police said a person walking near Kirkaldy Drive in the Wheat Cityfound the two firearms under a tree on a bike path near the Corral Center.

The firearms are a flintlock muzzle-load rifle and a Steyr model 1886 bolt-action centre-fire rifle, police said.

No reports were filed recently about lost or stolen guns, and police are asking anyone with information aboutthe weapons to give officers a call at 204-729-2345.
