Here's what you need to know to catch the Grey Cup parade

For the first time in 29 years, the Grey Cup will be on parade through Winnipeg Tuesday afternoon.

Winnipeg's Grey Cup parade kicks off at noon, starting near Hargrave Street and Portage Avenueand continues:

• Eastbound on Portage Avenue from Hargrave Street to Main Street.
• South on Main Street to William Stephenson Way.
• William Stephenson Way to Israel Asper Way and on to The Forks.

The Blue Bombers posted a map of the route Monday afternoon.

Blue Bombers players, coaches, and staff will be joined by several local politicians and dignitaries, including Premier Brian Pallister and Winnipeg Mayor Brian Bowman. The Bomber's cheer team and mascots will also be in the parade.

Police say they will chip inwith "a little extra blocking" for the team.They will set up temporary road closuresin the downtown area starting around 11 a.m. to accommodate the parade.

Of note, Hargrave Street will be closed from 11 a.m. to noon, and Portage Avenue between Carlton and Main streetswill be completely closed from 11:30 a.m. to approximately 12:15 p.m.

Main will also be closed between Bannatyneand St. Mary avenues.

The roads will reopen after the procession moves along the route but there will likely be lengthy delays as pedestrians make their way out of the area, police said, urging drivers to be careful and to plan more time for travel.

The Royal Canadian Air Force will do a fly-over at 1:30 p.m.
