Emergency crews in Brandon extracted a woman who became trapped in her vehicle after it allegedly crashed into several parked cars Saturday night.

Police were called around 9:45 p.m. to E Fotheringham Drive, where a Dodge Caravan hit four parked vehicles.

The 27-year-old Brandon woman driving the van was trapped inside. After extracting her from the vehicle, paramedics took her to Brandon Regional Health Centre.

Her injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.

Alcohol and speed are both considered to be factors in the crash, Brandon police said.

The area was closed for about six hours while police investigated.

"Hopefully the analytical investigation will be able to determine how fast the vehicle was travelling at the time of impact as well as what level of alcohol the driver may have had in her system, which will in the end be able to allow us to perhaps lay some charges in relation to those, or both," said Staff Sgt. Kevin Loewen with the Brandon Police Service.

No one else was injured in the incident.
