Woman hit by pickup truck in North End Winnipeg sent to hospital in unstable condition

A woman was rushed to hospitalafter being hit by car in Winnipeg's North End on Monday night.

Happened at McPhillips Street and Machray Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Monday

A woman was rushed to hospitalafter being hit by car in Winnipeg's North End on Monday night.

The woman waswalking across McPhillips Street atMachray Avenue when she was hit by a northbound pickup truck just before 9:30 p.m., police said in a news release.

The woman suffered serious injuries and was in unstable condition when she was sent to hospital. Police told CBC News earlier on Tuesday the woman had been in critical condition.

The driver remained at the scene to speak with police, while some lanes were shut down to traffic. They didn't reopen until4 a.m. Tuesday.

The investigation is ongoing and police had no word on whether any charges are pending.
