Charges laid in beating death outside Winnipeg nightclub

Charges of second-degree murder have been laid in the death of a man involved in a fight outside a gay club in Winnipeg last weekend.

A 31-year-old man wascharged Tuesday with second-degree murder following the death of a maninvolved ina fightoutside a gay club in Winnipeg last weekend.

Lyle Walker, 35, died in hospital Monday, two days afterhe was badly beaten outside Club 200 on Garry Street in downtown Winnipeg.

On Monday, Winnipeg police said they knew little about how the fight started, but did not believe it was a hate crime.

Investigators did not release further information on the motivation behind the fight.
