Winnipeg police renewed their appeal Saturday for tips help finding an Oxford House First Nation woman nowmissing for about a month.

Initially police reported that Christine Wood, 21, was last seen on Aug. 19 in downtown Winnipeg.

Since then, police said she's possibly been spotted in Osborne Village, downtown near Portage Place mall, the city's North End and in St. James east of thePolo Park shopping mall.

Wood's disappearance has sparked concern across the province, with a fundraiser in Thompson, Man, drawing hundreds on Friday in support of her family.

Wood and her parents came to Winnipeg to help a family member to a medical appointment. Her mother and father returned to their hotel room to find she was gone, they previously said.

Wood, who stands five-foot-six and has an average build, was last seen wearing a green top with a red striped Adidas jacket and denim shorts. Her hair is shoulder-length and possibly dyed red. Wood was carrying a white purse, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Winnipeg police Missing Persons Unit at 204-986-6250.
