Manitoba celebrates 150 years as a Canadian province this month and CBC Manitoba's Information Radio will be marking the occasion with stories and interviews about our rebellious, gritty and culture-filled province. So we decided to issue a challenge. Send us 150 of the BEST things about Manitoba!

There'sa lot that can be said about the historic milestone that Manitoba reaches this year, never mind that it's happening in the middle of...well, you know what.

When you think of our home province, what comes to mind? Is it the prairie sky? How about the iconic founding father, Louis Riel? Maybe it's the polar bears.

It's been 150 years since Manitoba received royal assent through the Manitoba Act. On May 12, 1870 the province brokeaway from Rupert's Land and officially joined Canada's confederation on July 15, 1870.
