Driver killed in fiery head-on crash on Manitoba highway

A highway crash between a car and pickup truck left one person dead and anotherinjured.

The crash happened around 2 p.m. Tuesdayon Highway6 near Road 86Nin the Rural Municipality of Woodlands.

The northboundcarcrossed into the southbound lane and collided head-on with the truck, according to RCMP, who say the vehicles thenerupted in flames.

The driver of the car, who was the only person in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck was pulled to safety by passers-by who stoppedtohelp, andwas airlifted to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
