Those fires capped a weekend that saw a woman sent to hospital after being injured in a suspicious fire on Manitoba Avenue at McNichol Street onSunday morningas well as another fire onSt. Anne's Road atForresterAvenueon Saturday.

That all comes after a fiery April that saw about a dozen significant fires, including a major one at the corner of MarylandStreet and Westminster Avenuein the Wolseley neighbourhood on April 23.

The fire spread totwo nearby homes, left six people homeless and injured four firefighters and two residents.

Police are still looking for two suspects who were seen running from the scene shortly before thatfire began.

Alex Forrest, president of the United Fire Fighters of Winnipeg, saidthere's also been a steady number of minor fires in garbage bins since Saturday.

"And with the weather forecast, it's supposed to be hot and warm all week, I can see the problem getting worse this week," he said.
