Thunderstorms are moving through southern Manitoba today, but some residents in the Interlake region are still assessing damage from an overnight hail storm.

Hail and pouring rain poundedcommunities like Teulon and Matlock, north of Winnipeg, around 4 a.m. Saturday.

Teulon residentMelodyZeller says her gardenwas ruined by quarter-sized hail that fell over a40-minute period.

"What appeared to be quite a flourishing garden yesterdayand we called it 'the forest' because everything was so big this year you can't see any greenery anymore. it's all gone," she told CBC News late Saturday morning.

Zeller, who managed to salvage some of the tomatoes in her garden, said she's happy no one was hurt but she's alsoworried about property damage around town.

"I know that people around town have damaged vehicles and damaged houses," she said.

"Our camper is damaged as well, so there's way worse things than my garden."
