2nd driver dies after head-on crash southwest of Winnipeg

The second driver involved in a head-on crash near Sperling, Man., has died.

The second driver involved in a head-on crash near Sperling, Man., has died.

RCMP, who are investigating the crash that happened Mondayevening, said the male driver died in hospital.

He had three passengers in the vehicle whoremain in hospital withnon-life-threatening injuries.

The male driver of the other vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. His female passenger is in hospital withnon-life-threatening injuries.

The vehicles collidedjust before 7:30 p.m.on Highway 3,about one kilometre northeast ofSperling.

Police said it's not clear yet whether alcohol was involvedor if the occupants were wearing seat belts.

The road was closed for several hours following the crash and STARS air ambulance was called in as well.

Sperling is about 60 kilometres southwest of Winnipeg.
