The Winnipeg Police Service's K-9squad is paying tribute to one of their most beloved members in an upcoming 2016 calendar.

Judge, astar K-9 unitmember that helped investigators in more than 500 arrests, died in January, shortly after the dog's retirement.

Calendars with pictures of Judge and 11 other service dogs and 12 handlers weresent to a printerthis week. The photograph for December will be of the majority of those dogs together with Air-1, the service's helicopter, police said.

The calendars will be available for $15 and funds raised will go to the Winnipeg Police Endowment Fund, which helps under-served and at-risk families and children.

"We've put out the calendar to showcase our dogs and our unit to help raise funds and put back into the community," saidan email from Const. Dave Weisz, one of the K-9 unit handlers.
