May long weekend weather looks to outshine last year

Highs in the 20s, sunny skies andsoutherly winds. Sure there's a chance of a thunderstorm or two, butManitoba doesn't always have such a summery forecast for the Victoria Day long weekend.

Last year was a different story, when storms raged through much of southern Manitoba, taking down trees and hydro lines. Temperatures were so chilly parts of the province even got snow.

Last year, theCity of Winnipeg took weeks to clean up all the debris.

Then there was 2009, that's whenwinter temperatures extinguished camping plans and any hope of tanningon a beach.
