Man found dead inside Main Street hotel in Winnipeg

Police tape surrounds the entrance to a notorious Winnipeg hotel where a man was found dead.

Officers were called to theManwin Hotel on Main Street around 10:30 p.m. Sunday about aman covered in blood and lying on the lobby floor, not breathing, said police spokeswomanConst.TammySkrabek.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Winnipeg police are investigating the death as a homicide.

Theidentification unit remained at the hotel, between Henry and Logan avenues,as ofMonday morning.

The Manwinhas been the scene of many violent crimes over the years.
