Man allegedly assaulted by group of 4 unknown men with machetes in Springfield, Man.: RCMP

A 27-year-old man was seriously injured after allegedly being assaulted by a group of four men, unknown to him, with machetes outside a business in Springfield last month.

A 27-year-old man is seriously injured after being allegedly assaulted by a group of four men, unknown to him, with machetes outside a business in Springfield, Man., last month.

Oakbank RCMP officers responded to the assault in the rural municipality on July 26, police said in a news release Friday morning.

Police said a 27-year-old man arrived to a business on Jean Marc Avenue at 7 a.m. It is reported that four other men, unknown to him, approached the 27-year-old and assaulted him with machetes.

The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

RCMP said the continue to investigate the incident andare asking for the public's assistance in identify a dark-coloured Honda Civic that was in the area of the assault at the time of the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact RCMP at204-444-3847.
