Mounties hunt arsonist who torched Selkirk medical clinic

Selkirk RCMP are searching for an arsonist after a Selkirk medical clinic was set ablaze Tuesday night.

Mounties said a man set fire to theEveline Street clinicabout10:30 p.m.

The Selkirk Fire Department wascalled in, but the back entrance of the building was badly damaged.

Smoke also caused extensive damage to the rest of the building, Tara Seel, an RCMP spokesperson said.

Police are searching for a man who was wearing a white baseball cap, dark shirt, blue shorts and running shoes. The suspect, who was caught onsurveillance video, took off in a white four-door hatchback.
