Snow clearing crews out in force

Winnipeg snow clearing crews will be out around the clock starting at 8 p.m. CT.

City spokeswoman Michelle Baileysaid Wednesday that 175 pieces of equipment will be out clearing Wednesday's blast ofsnow from main arteries, feeder and bus routes.

The city is also asking drivers to be careful when they encounter crews.

"When we say stay 50 feet [15 metres]back, we mean it," Bailey said, referring to thesize of the equipment and thepossible hazards they pose to motorists.
