Graham James sentence may be appealed

Manitoba justice officials will be reviewing Graham James's sentence to see if there are any grounds for an appeal, CBC News has confirmed.

James was sentenced Tuesday in Winnipeg for sexually assaulting ex-NHL player Theoren Fleury and Fleury's younger cousin, Todd Holt, while coaching them in the junior hockey ranks during the 1980s and early '90s.

The Crown was seeking a six-year prison term, butprovincialcourt Judge Catherine Carlson sentenced James to two years behind bars.

The Crown has 30 days to appeal the sentence.
