The Manito Ahbee Festival wraps up for another year

The annual Manito Ahbee Festival wrapped up Sunday following five days' worth of activities.

The main event, the international powwow fell on Sept. 12 and 13 and was held at Winnipeg's MTS Centre.

At the powwow,Alexa Girard was named Miss Manito Ahbee 2015. Miss Manito Ahbee acts as the powwow's youth ambassador andisgiven in honour of missing and murdered indigenous women and girls.Girardwill now travel with her crown to communities and powwows across North America.
