Two women are dead following a three-car crash on Garven Road near Oakbank on Sunday.

RCMP said the crash happened just before 10:30 a.m. when an eastbound vehicle collided with a westbound vehicle about two miles east of PR 206.

A third vehicle sideswiped one of the vehicles in the crash shortly after.

RCMP said two of the three people in the eastbound vehicle died in the crash. One was an 80-year-old woman and the other an 86-year-old woman. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

The three people in the westbound vehicle were taken to a Winnipeg hospital in stable condition.

RCMP are now investigating what may have caused the crash but said they do not believe alcohol was a factor.
