Victim butchered, jurors at murder trial told

A gruesome murder trial began Monday in a Winnipeg courtroom.

Sidney Teerhuis-Moar has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder in the death of Robin Greene, 38.

His lawyer, Greg Brodsky, told jurors Teerhuis-Moar could not recall the 2003 slaying.

Crown attorney Sheila Leinburd briefly outlined the facts, saying Greene's body parts were found inside aroom in Winnipeg's downtown Royal Albert Arms Hotel. The victim had been dismembered, beheaded and the body cut into eight pieces.

Police identification officers testified that body parts were stacked neatly in the bathtub.Leinburd said all of Greene's organs had been removed. Despite a search in the suite, the plumbing in the hotel, and dumpsters outside theywere never recovered.
