Of all the re-imaginings of classics I've seen this fringe, this is my favourite.

JessyArdernis a powerhouse of a writer. The previous winner of two Harry Rintoul Awards, her writing keeps getting stronger.

The story is of Cassandra, who is cursed to foresee the future and not be believed. Ardern's storytellingushers us into new perspectives onthe TrojanWar.

Actor Carmen Nieuwenhuis effortlessly dances in and out of these many roles and perspectives. At the top of the show I wasn't sure of the set and staging, but director Corben Kushneryk nails it. The set and props, which could all be found in any janitor's closet, is without a doubt Troy. Nieuwenhuis crafts them into people and characters as well, and the result is striking.
