A woman was arrested at the corner of Portage Avenue and Main Street in Winnipeg on Tuesday morning after she walked into traffic, waved a gun around at vehicles, then put it to her head.

No one was injured, police said. It isn't yet clear what motivated the teen to do this.

The bizarre, four-minute longincident brought traffic to a standstill for a time and made for a tense few moments for bystanders and drivers in the area before police moved in.

Later that day, the teen was charged with possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, causing a disturbance and public mischief.

On Wednesday, police laid three more charges against her, including disguise with intent, mischief endangering life anduse of an imitation firearm during commission of an indictable offence.
