Winnipeg police seeking man in connection with hammer attack on 15-year-old

Winnipeg police are asking the public for help identifying a man who may be connected with a hammer attack on a teen last month.

The 15-year-old was found on a Selkirk Avenue sidewalk, between McGregor and Powers streets, late on the morning ofMay 30, police said.

A witness who found the teen on the sidewalktold CBC the 15-year-old still had the hammer lodged in his head when first responders arrived.

The teen was suffering from serious head trauma andwas taken to hospital in critical condition, police said. Heis expected to have life-altering injuries.

The man police are seeking isbelieved to be in his 20s and is about five foot eight, with a slim buildand short dark hair.
