Winnipeg's polar bears predict Edmonton Eskimos will win Grey Cup

The Edmonton Eskimos are going to win Sunday's Grey Cup at least that's what polar bears at Winnipeg's Assiniboine Park Zoo predict.

The Edmonton Eskimos are going to win Sunday's Grey Cup at least that's what polar bears at Winnipeg's Assiniboine Park Zoo predict.

On Saturday, zookeepersset out two players made of cardboard andstuffed with foodin the bears' habitat one Edmonton Eskimo, one Ottawa Redblack. When thebears were let in, Storm went straight for Edmonton.

"There might be a bias preference of which one thezookeepersplaced closer so I don't know if you can really bet on it," said Jenna Harrison, who works with Storm and the other bears; Kaska, Aurora and Hudson, at the zoo.

While Storm was picking apart the cardboard football player, Kaska went to one of a few plates of food that was also set out for the bears.

"She took her opportunity to notice that he was busy over there and she took all the good stuff off every plate that we'd made for the bears," Harrison said.

She calls Saturday's activity only one of a number of fun polar bear moments open to the public, each equally important to Manitobans' understanding of the animalsand their existence in the wild.

"Having moments like this, you get to go get close, you get to meet the bearsand they become ambassadors of their species," she said.

"Hopefully kids get to leave today knowing that they want to learn a little more about polar bears and see how they can help them."
