Back to regular temps this weekend

The heatwave won't last long in Winnipeg, though; temperatures are expected to fall back to near-seasonal for the weekend.

"The upper level ridge that has brought record breaking heat and extremely dry conditions to Western Canada has now moved east into Manitoba," CBC meteorologist John Sauder explained.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday will see temperatures in the high teens, with a windy morning forecast for Friday.

"A cold front moves through here overnight; by Friday morning, 12 degrees with winds out of the north gusting to 60 km/h," Sauder said.
