Woman stabbed by resident during break-in, Winnipeg police say

A Winnipeg womanwas stabbed by a resident at a home she was trying to break into early Sunday morning and has been arrested, Winnipeg police say.

A Winnipeg womanwas stabbed by a resident at a home she was trying to break into early Sunday morningand has been arrested, Winnipeg police allege.

A woman kicked in the front door of a home on Raleigh Street after an earlier argument with awoman who lives there, police said in a news release on Sunday.

Before the woman, who had been drinking, could enter the home further, the residentstabbed her in the upper body, police said. Two children who were inside weren't hurt, police said.

The resident and the 29-year-old woman who was stabbed know each other, said police.

Winnipeg police responded to reports of the woman getting stabbed at about 1:15 a.m. Sunday. Officers applied a tourniquet before she was taken to the hospital, police said.

She was charged with break and enterwith intent and was released on an undertaking.
