Whats important to recognize is Ms. Poorman at 29 years of age has lost her life in an obviously violent manner and investigators are anxious to get any information that may lead to the arrest of the suspect, said Const. Eric Hofley.

There have been no arrests in Poormans death, and police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

A neighbour who lived nearby said she woke to sirens and blaring lights. She said the entire block was taped off and at least three police cars were parked in the area.

Another neighbour said he also woke to loud noises and emergency lights. The man, who did not want his name published, said the area is known for violence, and he worries for his children. He said hes trying to move out of the area.
