The body of a woman has been found in a stream just outside Winnipeg, in the Rural Municipality of Rosser.

Construction workers levelling trenches near the riverbank discovered the body at about 3 p.m. Wednesday, according to the RCMP.

Several cruiser cars were on the scene Thursday about 16 kilometres west of Winnipeg, blocking off a section of a dirt road just off Highway 221.

The RCMP are investigating to determine the identity of the woman and had little other information about her, other than she is of medium build and was wearing a white shirt, jeans and runners.
