Montreal police investigate death of woman in her 50s in Anjou

When Montreal police officers arrived at a private home in Anjou following a 911 call, they found a woman in her 50s on the floor and unconscious.

Police say cause of death is unclear

Montreal police's major crimes unit is investigating after a woman in her 50s died in a private residencein the borough of Anjou.

According to the Service de police de la Ville de Montral, a 911 call was placed just before 4 a.m. on Wednesday. Officers rushed to a home located on d'Aubigny Avenue, a small street that intersects with Bois-de-Coulonges and Villars avenues.

When police got there, the woman was on the floor and unconscious. She died at the scene.

The major crimes unit is investigating because the cause of death is unclear for now.
