'Arthur' first baby born at MUHC superhospital

The first baby born at the new MUHC superhospital, a healthy boy weighing 3.6 kg, has been given the name "Arthur."

Mother in labour arrived at new facility early Sunday morning

The first baby born at the new MUHC has been named"Arthur," hospitalstaff confirmed.

Arthur Perreault, ahealthy baby boy, was bornat6:55 a.m. on Sunday.

Heweighed 3.6 kgatbirth.

It was the second child for MarieBrilleaudandSylvainPerreault, who already have a two-year-old girl namedmy.

Arthur's motherarrivedat the new superhospitalin labour early in the morning,while staff were preparing to move patients from the Royal Victoria to the new facility.

"Even before the first patient got from the RVH to the Glen, as we were doing the kickoff meeting for volunteers and staff for the move, a woman in labour came in at 6:17 a.m.," MUHC spokesperson RichardFahey said on Monday.

"At 6:55 a.m. (we had) a newborn baby."
