Georges St-Pierre photo exhibit opens at Phi Centre

Sixteen photographs on display at the Phi Centre show a private snapshot of the life of Georges St-Pierre, one of Quebec's most recognizable personalities.

Sixteen photographs on display at the Phi Centre show a private snapshot of the life of Georges St-Pierre,one of Quebec's most recognizable personalities.

Photographer Justin Kingsley snapped the photos, the subject of the Phi Centre's new Georges & Guy exhibit, one afternoon inthe basement of Montreal's Grand Seminary.

Kingsley and St-Pierre had been eating breakfast earlier that day when he asked the fighter what his plans were for the rest of the day.

St-Pierre told him he would be meetingwith friend Guy Guindon, a priest and a black-belt in karate who had built a dojo in the seminary's basement, topractice a particular martial arts move.

Kingsley ran home, grabbed his camera and some film and headed down to the seminary.

Fifteen minutes later,the photographer had shot a series of images that show a sideof St-Pierre that's known to few people.

Georges & Guy opens at the Phi Centre on Nov. 10 at 6 p.m.and runs until Dec. 18.
