On July 19, at around 1:50 a.m., two men were shot to death near the corner of Robert Boulevard and 25th Avenue in the city's Saint-Michel neighbourhood.

The victims were 33 and 34 years old. They died after being transported to hospital. Their deaths marked the 19th and 20th homicides on Montreal policeterritory this year.

In a statement, the SPVMsaid the 21-year-old suspect was arrested at the Bordeauxjail, as he was already in custody for car theft and possessing instruments for break-ins. He is also expected to appear in court by tomorrow to be charged with first-degree murder.
