Thousands lose power after Hydro-Qubec equipment failure

Equipment failure has led to thousands of power outages, mainly in the Montrgie and Lanaudire regions.

Equipment failure has led to thousands of power outages in the province Sunday morning, mainly in the Montrgie and Lanaudire regions.

A snow warning has been in effect in several regions of Quebec since Saturday evening.

The Montrgie region south of Montrealand the Lanaudire region north of the city are recording the highest number of outages on the utility's website, with 5,582 and 6,218 as of 1:30 p.m.

More than 30,000 Quebecers were without power at one point earlier Sunday morning.
