GHB drug overdose in Jonquire sends 4 to hospital

Four young adults are in hospital after they overdosed on GHB at a house partyearly Wednesday morninginJonquire, located 460 kilometres northeastof Montreal.

Police in Quebec's Saguenay regionresponded to a call at a residence onSt-Hubert Street, where they arrested a 27-year-old man who they believedistributed GHB, also known as the date rape drug.

Police believe that they took thedrugvoluntarily but are investigating what exactly happened.

All four peoplewere transported to hospital in critical condition. One individual was struggling to breathe when police arrived.

They are now in stable condition.

The accusedwill appear in court thisafternoon inChicoutimi.
