Man killed in Montreal parking lot hours after fatal shooting in Cte-des-Neiges

Police are investigating a fatal shootingin Montreal's Ahuntsic-Cartierville borough.

The Service de police de la Ville de Montral police (SPVM) say they received a call around 3 a.m. Wednesday, reporting that a man had beenfound unconscious ina business parking lot.

The victim,a 28-year-old man, was pronounced dead when police and Urgences-Sant paramedics arrived.

SPVM Const. Jean-Pierre Brabant confirmed the man died from gunshot injuries. He said the man was found lying on the ground, and first respondersimmediately saw he was suffering from gunshot wounds. Theyperformed CPR but later declared him dead.

The SPVM's major crime unit has been assigned to the case.No suspects have been identified.

Police have set up a security perimeter around the site where the body was found, on Boulevard Henri-Bourassa West, near the intersection of Bois-de-Boulogne Avenue, in the Nouveau-Bordeaux neighbourhood.

The shooting took place a little less than 12 hours after thekilling of a 39-year-old woman in a parking lot on Jean-Talon Street West, near the intersection with de la Savane Street, in Montreal's Cte-des-Neiges district.

Police have yet to make any arrests and say they have not yet found a link between the homicides, the eighth and ninth on the island of Montreal since the beginning of 2023.
