Athletes at McGill University have created a video promoting the need forsexual consent as part of a larger program at the school.

The program. #ConsentMcGill, was developed in collaboration with students, faculty and staff, according to McGills website. Its theme, borrowed from Concordias consent campaign, is Ask, Listen and Respect.

The athletes in the video talk about what consent means to them, and how they will work to foster a safe environment for students.

#ConsentMcGill comes as the university still grapples with how it handled recent incidents of sexual assault involving student athletes.

Bianca Ttrault was hired in April as a sexual assault response coordinator for the university.

The goal is really to educate the larger community around consent in regards to sexual activity and day-to-day life, she said.

Information booths will be set up at McGills downtown and West Island campuses.

McGill said it is also reviewing its policies and procedures in light of the incidents.

The #ConsentMcGill campaign is scheduled to last all year.
