Montrealers shouldn't expect a white Christmas

A hot air system moving through Quebec will dash hopes of a white Christmas in Montreal, according to Environment Canada.

The forecast for Montreal calls for sunshine and a high of 6 degreeson Dec. 25 and Christmas Eve could see temperatures reaching 14 degrees.

This would be the second green Christmas in a row, making it the third time that's happened back-to-back and the first time since 1998-1999.

Montreal is experiencing record low snowfall, with the city seeing only 3.4 centimetres so far this winter compared to the 46 centimetres usually seen by this point.

The most snowfall Montreal has seen on Dec. 25was in 1966 when 32.8 centimetres fell on the city.

The warmest Christmas on record was in 1964 when temperatures reached 11.7 degrees.
