Polytechnique shooting: Why we must never forget

It's a date scarred on the heart of a nation but, for Sylvie Haviernick, the significance of Dec. 6 runs deeper. She lost her sister, Maud, in the shooting. In guest video blog for CBC, Haviernick explains the significance of the anniversary and the need to remember.

This year, she worked with the City of Montreal to create flags that were displayed on the streets in the weeks leading up to the anniversary.

The campaign, called "December 6 is a Woman" featured the names of all of the 14 women killed.
