One couple, same symptoms, two different COVID-19 test results

Nearly 60,000 Quebecers have tested positive for COVID-19. This is Ada McVean's story about the positive test results that came 24 hours after her boyfriend, who had the same symptoms, tested negative.

Ada and her boyfriend thought they had recovered from their mild cases of COVID-19. A few weeks later, their symptoms were back.

Ada McVean, 24,was closely following the COVID-19 situation as it swept across the globe.

A trained scientist and graduate student at McGillUniversity, she was careful when she was out in publicand followed all public health directives at the time.

First she lost her sense of taste and smell. Then McVean and her boyfriend experienced mild flu-like symptoms.

Both were tested. Her boyfriend was negative. She was positive.
