Saguenay police warn of street drugs after 2 found dead within 48 hours

Police in Quebec's Saguenay region are warning people about the risks of high-powered street drugs after two men were found dead in an apartment within 48 hours.

Police in Quebec's Saguenay region are warning people about the risks of high-powered street drugsafter two men were found dead in the sameapartment within 48 hours.

Police spokesmanBruno Cormier saidboth men suffered cardiac arrest.

Cormier said the men, who were both in their 30s,were known to authorities and knew each other.

He said the body of Eric Migneault, 34, was found Sunday in the home inSaguenay, which is about 250 kilometres north of Quebec City.

On Tuesday morning, police found the body of a 33-year-old man "in the same spot in the house,"Cormier said.

Police are not saying what the drug was.

Earlier this year in Quebec City, three people died of cardiac arrest after taking counterfeitfentanylpills.

The drug is a sedativeas well as a painkiller.

In Alberta this year alone, the drug has been linked to more than 150 deaths.
