Santa Claus parade brings Christmas magic to Montreal

Friday's snow came just in the Saint-Nick of time for Montreal's68th Santa Claus Parade.

Santa and the Christmas Fairy took a break from their busy schedules in order to participate.

"We worked our magic because we really wanted to bring the magic of Christmas to downtown Montreal," said Vanessa Pilon, the Quebec personality and this year's Christmas Fairy in Montreal.

For about an hour and a half, 20 floats made their way down Ste-Catherine along with artists, musicians and street performers.

Organizers say more than 100,000 people watched from the corner of Fort Street all the way to the Place desFestivals.

"Wethinkeveryone was nice, at least a little, at least a little to deserve a present," Pilon said, laughing.

"I've got a lot of parades around the world, but Montreal is the best," Santa said.
