These are the cities in Quebec that could take in refugees

Quebec Immigration Minister Kathleen Weil released a list of the 13 cities in Quebec that would house Syrian refugees destined for the province.

Quebec Immigration Minister Kathleen Weil released a list of the 13 cities in Quebec that would house Syrian refugees destined for the province.

Quebec is slated to receive 5,700 of the 25,000 refugees that will be accepted to Canada by the end of the year.

Weil says the arrival of Syrian refugees will take place with the security of Quebecers in mind, buttold a news conference the province's target may not be reached by year's end.

The followingcities have the resources to accommodaterefugees and help them integrate into society, the ministry said. Here's how many refugees each city will receive by the end of 2015:

  • Greater Montreal area (Montreal,Longueuil, Laval): 3,155
  • Quebec City: 100
  • Gatineau: 100
  • Sherbrooke: 100
  • Drummondville: 30
  • Granby: 30
  • Saint-Hyacinthe: 30
  • Trois-Rivires: 30
  • Victoriaville: 20
  • Joliette: 20
  • Saint-Jrme: 20
