$10K reward offered in search for Genevieve Cormier

A $10,000 reward is being offered in the search for missing Saint John teen Genevieve Cormier, who hasn't been seen for 25 days.

A $10,000 reward is being offered in the search for missingSaint John teen Genevieve Cormier.

The 19-year old was last seen between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. onSept. 29 in a parking lot near the Reversing Falls, and appeared to be headed west.

She was known to walk home through that area but an extensive search hasturned up nothing.

Five local unions put up the money for information that leads to her return as a search by some 800 volunteers continues.

Cormier'smother, Janine Noel Hawkins, saidthe disappearance has been hard on the family.

"I've heard a few things:someone saw her here, someone might have seen her there. It just never checks out," she said.

"I don't know what to do with myself every day. I can't believe how much time'sgone by. It's just, really, the most difficult thing ever."

Genevieve Cormier's father, Jason Cormier, said he's hopeful the reward will give an incentive to someone who's been holding back. "Sometimes, as much as I hate to say it, money talks."

Genevieve Cormier is described as being about five feet seven inches to five feet eight inches tall, weighing 120 pounds with a thin build.

She has long brown hair that she wears straight, or in a ponytail. She has hazel eyes and will usually wear a light amount of makeup.

Cormier has pierced ears and a black bird tattoo on her left shoulder blade.
