11 Liberal cabinet ministers ousted

Liberal Leader Shawn Graham maybe returning to the legislature, butmore than halfof his cabinet colleagues won't be coming back with him.

Elevenministers went down to defeat, including Natural Resources Minister Wally Stiles and Energy Minister Jack Keir.

Keir was the face of the unpopular deal to sell NB Power to Hydro-Qubec. Keir was defeated in the riding of Fundy-River Valley, which has traditionally been a Tory riding.

Stiles defected from the Tories to the Liberals in 2007 with hiswife, Joan MacAlpine-Stiles, who did not run again in Moncton West.

Mary Schryer, the province's health minister, was toppled in her riding of Quispamsis by Tory Blaine Higgs.

Ed Doherty, the supply and services minister, lost a tight battle in Saint John Harbour, with PC Carl Killen emerging with a nine-vote victory on Monday night.

Fredericton also saw allthree of its cabinet ministers go down to defeat.

Greg Byrne, the finance minister, Kelly Lamrock, the social development minister, and Rick Miles, the environment minister, were all ousted by Tories.

NineLiberal cabinet members were re-elected.
